What are the types of programmes?

Can I cancel the programme any time?
Yes the monthly subscription which can be cancelled whenever you need to.

Can I join the programme if I only have a few months before training?
Yes 100%, it is made for those who have years before they join or only a few weeks or months.

How old do I need to be to start the programme?
Anyone under the age of 16 will need parental consent for joining the fitness programme and the payment process.

Will these programmes help me get ready for the Royal Marines?
Yes, they are completely designed to get you into the best shape for all pre joining fitness tests and recruit training.

Do I need to do anything else on top of these programmes to get ready?
If you follow these programmes down to the tee they will put you in great stead for Royal Marines training. You may need to spend a little bit of extra time in areas of weaknesses on top of the programme but overall the programmes have everything you need in them.

How often will I need to train on the programme?
The programmes are set up so they have 6 training days a week. You don’t have to hit every single day but the programme is best used if that is the case.

What Ages can I join the Royal Marines?
You must be aged 16 to 32. To be an officer, you'll need to be aged 18 to 25

Where is the Royal Marines Recruit training?
Royal Marines recruit training takes place at Lympstone Commando training centre in Devon

The Royal Marines recruit all year round and have intakes every 2 weeks

Will I become a commando if I join?
On completion of Royal Marines training you will have the title Royal Marines Commando

How do I join special forces like SBS & SAS?
Once you are serving you put your name forward for special forces selection which is a gruelling 5-6 month course

What is the pay like in the Royal Marines?
Starting wage is roughly £15,000 a year during recruit training, but goes up at the 6 month mark and continually improves every year and every time you get promoted.

Is there opportunities to travel with the Royal Marines?
Yes tons of opportunities to travel all over the world

Will I see my family much if I join?
It all depends on operational needs. If it’s a particularly busy time then you may not see them much.

Can I choose where I am based?
The Royal Marines will try to accommodate your preference draft however it is not always achievable because of service needs.

What jobs can I do after I leave the Royal Marines?
Many Royal Marines go into private security and Maritime security, but are not limited to that. The skills and experiences you gain within the Royal Marines will put you in good stead for any career you go into.

How hard is Royal Marines recruit training?
It is renowned for being the longest and hardest military basic training in the world.

What kit should I take to Royal Marines recruit training?
You will be sent a full kit list when you join Royal Marines training. It is imperative that you follow the kit list down to a tee.

What rank will I be when I finish recruit training?
You will have the rank of Marine (Royal Marines Commando)

Does it help being in the cadets before I join?
It is extremely beneficial to be in the cadets beforehand as it will give you the basics of soldiering and rifle drills.
